TES provides an array of behavior intervention services, including one to one classroom and/or home support. Services are tailored to meet each child’s individual needs. Behavior Intervention uses a combination of approaches to address a student’s target behaviors in order to form and strengthen replacement behaviors. The following approaches and tools are used:
|
Applied Behavior Analysis-ABA is a systematic process of studying and modifying observable behavior through a manipulation of the environment.
Discrete Trial Training-The focus of this teaching method is to teach the child specific skills he/she needs to be successful. The goal is always for the child to learn and independently initiate acquired skills.
Picture Exchange Communication Systems-PECS is an augmentative communication system created to help individuals attain a functional means of communication.
Social Stories-A social story is an intervention strategy that teaches self-awareness skills, as well as self-calming and self-management skills, through the use of situational stories.
