Summary

Executive functioning and self-regulation skills are mental processes that help us engage in goal-directed actions such as planning ahead, prioritizing tasks, and managing our own emotions and behaviors. These skills play an important role in an individual’s daily functioning in the home, school, and community settings. Executive functioning and self-regulation skills are developed over time, and some individuals may need more support than others to develop these skills. This webinar will further define executive functioning and self-regulation skills and examine the importance and impact of skill development in these areas. Strategies to promote executive functioning and self-regulation skill development throughout childhood and adolescence will also be discussed as well.
