Summary

Dyslexia affects around 15-20% of the population and 70-80% of those receiving special education services, according to the International Dyslexia Association. While reading is a struggle, learning to read is possible for these students with the appropriate instruction.  This presentation will explore the definition of dyslexia and its common characteristics. We will debunk myths surrounding dyslexia and examine appropriate instruction and accommodations. Finally, we will discuss grade-level-specific strengths and weaknesses.
