Our Resource Specialist Teachers (RSTs) and Instructional Aides focus on providing instruction to students with identified special needs, ensuring their success and access to curriculum in the school setting. Using an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) tailored to the needs of each child, our teachers provide specialized instruction and academic remediation within an individual or group setting.
RSTs are trained to conduct formal academic assessments used to better understand a student’s academic needs. These results are shared with the IEP team and used to create individualized goals.
RSTs and Instructional Aides provide direct services to students based on the services outlined in the IEP. This support is documented and progress is monitored through ongoing assessments and data collection which is reported to the IEP team at IEP meetings.
CASE MANAGEMENT & CONSULTATION
Our RSTs are also able to provide case management and guidance on IEP development and compliance monitoring. They help with development of IEP master calendars, caseload audits and provide guidance to maintain compliance with federal and district guidelines.
Together with parents and caregivers, school administrators, teachers and other therapists, our RSTs and Instructional Aides work collaboratively to ensure that clients of all abilities continue to have their academic needs met and are able to make academic progress consistently.
