Tutoring Services

TES has nearly 25 years experience providing tutoring services to high-need students throughout the country, including English learners, students in low income communities, foster youth, students in special education, students eligible for Title I support, and schools with a high percentage of students eligible for the free and reduced lunch program.  In addition, TES is a CDE certified non-public agency providing DIS and academic services to school districts, charter, non-public, and private schools throughout the states of California, Ohio, Michigan, and online everywhere.

The strategies we utilize to achieve student success in our Academic Tutoring Services include ongoing collaboration and partnership with the school site, pre- and post-testing using standardized academic assessment tools, individual goals and objectives developed for each student’s learning needs, supplemental materials to increase skills in English Language Arts, Mathematics, and project based literacy, instructional decisions made on data collected by the tutor and reported to the school, and progress monitoring and documentation recorded for all sessions.

Our Tutors

Our tutors possess a varying level of education background based on the needs of our clients. The minimum qualification includes an associate’s degree or units towards a bachelor’s degree. Many of our tutors have completed their bachelor’s degree or other advanced degrees. Students are matched to tutors based on academic need as well as geographic area, if in-person. All tutors have passed DOJ and FBI background checks.

Our Tutors are trained on Trauma-Informed Practices in Schools (TIPS) to support the social emotional well-being of students during tutoring sessions. All tutors have received extensive training on COVID-19 safety procedures and have been equipped with the recommended PPE. TES tutors can work with students from Pre-K through Adult.

What are the Benefits of Tutoring?

Achieve individual academic goals through personalized, direct instruction.

Even the best students can run into a troublesome course of study and could benefit from some time with a tutor. Our tutors work with students to master coursework through homework assistance and by diving into areas in need of extra support. Prior to beginning services with a TES Tutor, students are given a comprehensive assessment to identify areas of need. Based on the results of that assessment, our tutors work with the student and families to develop measurable goals for learning. Through weekly sessions with the tutor, students work towards mastery of those goals, which ultimately leads them to higher grades in their core studies.
