Our Specialized Learning Curriculum

Each school program is crafted to meet the State of Ohio standards, and to exceed the expectations for excellence set for the child. All instruction is individualized to each student, and various curricula may be utilized in order to best meet their learning needs and objectives.

Preschool Level

We focus on play-based learning and ensure alignment with the Ohio Board of Education’s Early Learning and Development Standards. An individualized, behavioral-based curriculum is utilized targeting each child’s specific learning needs. Focus is placed on functional skills that are useful and immediately applicable to the child’s environment. This may include communication, learning safety and personal identifying information, toilet-training and self-care. Each day includes fun group activities involving sensory-motor, large and small muscle movement combined with music, rhythm, repetition and balance. Play-Based Centers provide open-ended opportunities for inspiration and exploration in math, science, drama, art and technology, allowing for independent learning experiences.

Elementary Level

At the Elementary level, the focus is on the academic and behavioral success of each student. The Ohio Extended Learning Standards guide instruction for English, math, social studies, and science. Daily individual and small group instruction is highly structured and is based on each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP), as well as any related academic or behavioral needs. Positive reinforcement based techniques bring about meaningful and favorable changes in behavior, and assist in the acquisition of new skills. Behavior support, academic intervention and social skills are primary developmental goals.

Middle and High School Levels

At these two unique learning levels, we maintain our focus on core subjects to meet our students’ individual abilities and needs. We use innovative techniques to help make lasting connections, both socially and vocationally, to real world situations. Individualized vocational opportunities are available for students, including community partnerships and career path explorations.

Tuition and Funding

We make it a priority to help our students and their families access the quality education to which they are entitled. Funding and placement can be obtained through school district placement, Autism Scholarship, Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship, private pay, and insurance providers.
